2019

Apollo 11, 50th Year Anniversary

The RASC St. John's Centre, in conjunction with the Johnson Geo Centre
will be holding a special event, to celebrate Man's first landing on the Moon.
Information on astronomy and the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada
will be available. See the Sun through specially filtered telescopes.

Saturday, July 20th 2019 (11am to 4pm)

Butter Pot Star Party

The RASC St. John's Centre will be holding its annual Butter Pot Star Party
at Butter Pot Provincial Park offering telescopic views of the Moon, Planets
and Deep Sky objects, as well as Solar Viewing during the day.

August 9th & 10th 2019 *

Night Sky Celebration

The RASC St. John's Centre will be joining Terra Nova National Park with astronomy
presentations, and offering telescopic night time views of the Moon, Planets
and Deep Sky objects, as well as Solar viewing during the day

August 23rd & 24th 2019 *
Evenings at the Activity Centre
Saturday afternoon at the Visitors Centre

Science Literacy Week

The RASC St. John's Centre will have a display at the Avalon Mall
as part of Science Literacy Week. Information on astronomy
and the RASC will be available.

Sunday, September 15th 2019 (Noon to 5pm)

International Observe the Moon Night

The RASC St. John's Centre will be holding its annual International
Observe the Moon Night at the Signal Hill National Historic Park
Interpretation Centre Parking Lot.  Close up views of the Moon,
and other celestial objects, will be provided.

October 5th 2019 (6pm) *

Transit of Mercury

The RASC St. John's Centre will be holding a special event
showing telescopic views of Mercury transiting the Sun.
Check back later for exact time and place.

November 11th 2019 *

* NOTE:- All outdoor events are weather permitting
