Meeting was called to order by the President (Richard Newman ) at 8:04 PM with wishes for a happy solstice.

Richard welcomed the audience with a review of the RASC and benefits of membership (Observers Handbook, SkyNews, RASC Journal, Equipment)

Richard answered a member's question regarding where the Messier program was on the RASC website.

Randy – Centre's TOV event, pictures of travel group
M. Redmond – M51, M13 from Portugal Cove
Richard – Moon Movie, Telus Centre (Edmonton) visit
Chris – M27, M12, Cygnus, several NGC objects

Randy highlighted the Sky This Month for June-Aug 2012 and presented an overview of the month's events – the handout was given to members.

Richard mentioned that he is doing the Williamson Lunar Observing Program.

Members were reminded of upcoming events –

Geo Centre Family Fun Days (July, August),Butterpot Star Party – mailout to members early August.

Randy reminded members of the upcoming RASC General Assembly and member concerns should be addressed to Garry.

It was noted that solar activity is likely to be high over the summer and interested members should be aware of sunspots and Aurora observing.

Coffee & Social – Members were invited to partake in a coffee social and to continue informal discussion.
