RASC St. John's Centre Monthly Meeting
June 16, 2004

1. Randy's Introduction.

GA mention: Helen Sawyer-Hogg lecture is free for the public. Randy introduced the society to new people, and pointed them to our web site.

2. Paul Doucet. "The First Stars."

Paul took a course on Astrophysics from Dr. Lewis, and his talk is based on an assignment for that course.

3. Randy. Proxy stuff for GA, etc.

You should check on this if you are interested in how your vote may be used in the future. There is a proposed membership fee increase. Please answer your survey. You can bring them in to the executive to collect for a group mailing. All members are welcome to the AGM at 9 am on Sunday, July 4, room AA1043 (Arts Annex).

Randy showed some videos of our occupation of Signal Hill: Here and Now, NewsWorld, etc. We also looked at the Venus gallery on http://www.spaceweather.com .

4. Gary Case.

Gary spoke for a bit on Star-B-Que (August 20-22). There was also some discussion of meteor showers and comets that are visible.

5. Garry Dymond spoke a bit on the GA.

Check out the goings-on at http://www.rasc.ca . He also passed around a Twillingate Observatory pamphlet.

6. Coffee.
