Meeting was called to order by the President ( Richard Newman ) at 8:05 PM

Richard welcomed the audience with a review of the RASC and benefits of membership (Handbook, SkyNews, Journal, Equipment)

Observation Reports – Ben, Richard – Globe at Night; Chris Mars images

Richard introduced the speaker – Bill Kavanagh with a talk “Black Holes, Aspects”

The lecture was well received with many questions from the audience.

Randy mentioned to members that the Butterpot Star Party has been moved to Aug 24-26 2012 instead of the earlier July date previously noted.

A shipment of the new RASC Moon Gazers' Guide has been received and a copy was distributed to all members present.

Randy noted that new inventory labels have been received and will be given to the equipment officer at first opportunity.

Robert distributed the Sky This Month for Feb 2012 and presented an overview of the month's events.

Randy showed the video of a recent ISS pass over Eastern Canada, clearly showing Newfoundland at night. Members noted the tremendous amount of light pollution.

Coffee & Social – Members were invited to partake in a coffee social and to continue informal discussion.
